The so-called Princely Portal in the southern side-aisle of the cathedral in Gyulafehérvár (today Alba Iulia, Romania) is one of the significant works of Romanesque art in Central Europe. The portal built at the beginning of the 13th century has a Maiestas Domini relief in the lunette. It represents Christ the King accompained by two apostles, and it was carved on a former relief (which depicted the same subject) from the first cathedral, built in the 11th century. After the Museum ordered it in 1905, the cast was made by József Reichenberger. The copy was built in the wall of the Romanesque Hall in the middle of 1907, and it was given a patina in 1909.
