Adam Kraft, a master active in Nuremberg, made a sandstone relief to decorate the wall of the weighing house in Nuremberg in 1497. The centre of the late medieval relief shows the city’s weighing master and his assistant as well as a merchant under the two coats of arms of Nuremberg. The inscription “dir als ein andern”, i.e., “to you as to others”, refers to the fairness of trade and the integrity of the weighing master. The building of the weigh house was destroyed in World War II, so the original relief is now preserved in the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg.
