Inscribed lower right: ‘Ferrau Fensonius Fauent In’, in the margin: ‘Per illustri DD Clementi Bartholo, Patricio Urbinati, uirtutum, ac bonarum artium portectori praestantiss Franciscus Villamena Viro optima sibi aspectu quidem ignoto fama autem & uirtute & sibi & ominib. notissimo dicatuit’ and with a poem: ‘Quisquis serpentum morsu cadis ictus, in altum/Tolle oculos pendet stipite certa salus//Dixerat haec Moses: Populus dum mortus imago/Imminet inspiciens aerea signa uidet// Hoc Deus in ligno mortem tulit ultro cadensq./Occidit, ut moriens mors mea Vita foret’, and with privilege at left: ‘Romae Cum Priuilegio Sumi/Pontificis Anno MDXCVII’ and at right: ‘Superiorum Permissu’
