Kiállítva Star Fortress (Komárom), The Archaic Period of Greek Sculpture (650–480 BC): Kore and Kouros Figures, Gallery II

This much abraded head once belonged to a statue that depicted a draped female figure. Her hair, let down and parted in the centre, is decorated with a ribbon. This fragment of a kore statue was found near the agora of Thera, the presumed place of the sanctuary of Athena Polias, protectress of the city. The statue is thus believed to have been a votive gift offered to the goddess.
