Signed lower center with monogram ‘AS’, inscribed on the belt of the Virgin: ‘MICHAEL ANGELVS BONAR’, in the lower margin. ‘MICH.ANG.BONAROTVS signa haec, quae in uaticano uisuntur, ita exacte perfecit; ut potius Parentam uirginem/extremo spiritu exanguem et con fectam et nati corpus miserabile emortuum doleas; quam demarmore positum putes’, dated: ‘Formis Romae M.D.L.XVI’ and inscribed with publisher’s address: ‘Romae Ant.o Lafrery.’
